Twelve Medium Voltage soft starters from 3000HP to 8800HP at 4160V are installed in one of the highest risk zones for earthquakes.
The pumps driven by the medium voltage soft starters are used to elevate the water to the gravitation tank on the hilltop above the desert location of Mexicali.
Downhill, the 180Km Water line from Mexicali to Tijuana brings fresh Baja California pumped water to the dry desert area of Tijuana.
